Stormwatch gets ready to release their new album.

Old song, new recording. Even though i havnt heard anything else from their upcomming album the "Best American release" of 2012 seems to be set already.

  1. Stormwatch are one of those bands where it amazes me, considering their popularity, that no-one has reissued their old albums yet. Makes me wonder if there's some boring legal rights issues with who owns the master tapes, or if the master tapes are lost, or something...

In terms of 'big name'/'legendary' oi bands who are totally out of print, it's only really these and Indecent Exposure that spring to mind in that regard.

I read somewhere on their Facebook that this one is going to be mostly re-recorded versions of old songs, with I think two or three new ones.

    1. Was thinking about the same thing some time ago. Getting ahold of an actual physical copy is almost impossible.
Even though Battle Zone got a collection released by Dims (or was it Pure impact, cant remember) the same thing goes for them. Albums everybody wants to own but noone knows how to get the fucking things.

    2. The Battlezone singer has changed his political views in the time since the albums were released and isn't too proud of what he did back then, so I don't reckon that they'll ever be reissued. There's an interview with him on the web somewhere. I've only heard a couple of their songs, but I gather that there were also some with racial lyrics?

Oxblood's 90s stuff should really still be in print too. I have their discography CD, but I've seen quite a few people complaining that this is really hard to get now.

  2. Mark Noah lost the original masters of "Right To Remain Violent".

    1. I suppose that they could just take one of the original CDs and duplicate it, if they wanted to reissue...

I think that this is actually what they have to do with the Sex Pistols. The tapes for Never Mind The Bollocks still exist, but the final mixed master is lost (or was).
