Patriot - Hooligan holiday 7'' (1993)

Tracklist:
01. Bail me out
02. R.S.V.P.
03. Yuletime stomp

Released independantly by the band in 1993.

Atlast after 2 weeks of reviewing Warzone (they are great and all but hardcore has a tendensy to make my ears bleed after a while) it's finally time for some good old Oi! on this site. I will start by completing some old discographies by uploading some records that i just bought or missed uploading when i did that group.

I bought this record by a collector in the states and it's a really rare gem that i dont believe even exists anywhere on the internet untill now. This was their second release and damn it's a great one. I had never heard the track Bail me out before and i must say that its one of the best songs ever by the band. As always they have a very rhythmic and happy twist on the Oi! sound. R.S.V.P. would be added on their second full-length in 1996 and the track on the EP i think most have heard before.

On their B-Side is the song Yuletime stomp that is a happy ska-inspired christmas song and the only reason why this EP doesnt get a 10/10 point. Its not bad at all but i think it's a bit to childish to even make it onto a B-side by this great band.
9/10
This record is sold out since way back and if you can find it for sale anywhere you are a lucky man.

  3. Uh, I totally agree, "YULETIDE STOMP" sounds more like some Jackass-Fun"Punk" track than a song/dose of good old American Oi! the PATRIOT way... but maybe I should try it again with some brews on my mind, who knows, hm, but I think I will try it out;-).
THANKS for this post, one of my total favorite bands of all time ever and I would bet that I would have never ever listened to it without this post here. And I ask myself why "BAIL ME OUT" didn't make it on a proper full length release of them, really a damn great song... "R.S.V.P." was always a damn good PATRIOT song but I think I like this version here even more than the later album version, hm, somehow the drum-playing is really some heavy stomping stuff and it's givin' me a great kickin'!!!
Ah, hey Bernando, do you know/knew that PATRIOT also released a "LIVE OVER EUROPE 1997" titled live record back then in 1999 via the german label "BLIND BEGGAR RECORDS", it's really cool album (not that typical ordinary live recrd crap) and on the cover you can see Eddie Bastard playing Santa Claus live on stage;-), but I don't know from where you could still get it today (me and my copy won't be separated, sorry, haha;-)...), hm, maybe "BLIND BEGGAR RECORDS" (http://www.oirecords.com/) still got some copies left and still sell the record today, I don't know it, but if you have the chance you might wanna grab it:-)!!!

  5. Many great new albums by classic group on the way. Stormwatch, Patriot also some rumors about a new First strike album on the way. Heard one of the new Girst strike songs on the "United skins for freedom of speech" compilation and it sounded as good if not even better than their old stuff. Lets not forgett all "unreleased and demo" albums on the way from bands like Immoral discipline and Pist'n'broke among some. Things are actually looking good musicwise.
Lets not forget the new Old firm casuals album to.
